If ever there was a car/driver combination that stands tall in the record books then this yellow peril tuned by the legendary Keith Black and shoe'ed by the equally famous Don Prudhomme must be it.

Put simply I cannot bring to mind any other top ranking car/driver combination, or indeed individual car or driver that has ever dominated the competition in similar fashion. Think about it for a moment, 141 starts 7 failures, victorious more than 95% of the time. I stand to be corrected but I do not think there has ever been a surer bet over a similar number of events in any other form of top rank racing, animal vegetable or mineral.

As to the model? Well for a start GMP really has managed to get the presentation spot on. Now don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing bad with the way Thirteen-Twenty or Precision Miniature present their products, it is just that GMP is close to perfection and I'd use the term exquisite. The model is securely held in a velvety black background and the eye is automatically drawn to the fine level of detail on every visible component. Although the web images I am using have a limited resolution I hope that you will be able to see just what a great model this is. The cycle wheels look just right, you may even see the valve stems, the cockpit has full detailing, the chute pack is a proper fine-weave fabric, even the slicks look like they have been recently used.
If I had to pick a fault it would be that when the cowls are removed you can tell that they are not scale thickness! Treat yourself to one. £ 89-99.

Of course if you prefer something smaller there is also the GMP 1/43 scale model plus the forthcoming 1320 Inc. 1/24 scale offering.
